Get Involved
Interested in working to help us in our mission? We would love to have your help! Below are several ways in which you can be part of the organization:
1. Subscribe to our newsletter!
2. Write for the blog – The PVS blog is a crucial element in our outreach to the Penn student population. We love to have contributors to the blog from a variety of backgrounds given their different perspectives. If you’re interested, please read our PVS Blog Etiquette document to view the general terms of blogging for us, and then send an email to pennveg@gmail.com to get access privileges to be able to post.
3. Get more food options – Because having plant-based food options is crucial to helping veg-curious people change their diets, we need people who are willing to work with the chefs in the Penn dining halls and in local restaurants to advocate for new vegan options. Here’s an example of where we have already had success with Ed’s Buffalo Wings and Pizza, University City’s largest pizza supplier! In our experience, good food is one of the most (if not the most) effective forms of activism.
4. Help plan events – We need people who can plan events and execute the necessary logistics of having widely-renowned speakers come to campus. Creating these headline events for the organization is crucial to showing the Penn community that we want to engage in the highly academic discourse around food with people of all backgrounds in the Penn population.
5. Have other ideas? – Let us know! Send us an email at pennveg@gmail.com with what you want to do and we’d love to support you.
